Pitt’s Greg Romeus connected to South Beach party

Another day, another high-profile college player’s name has been connected to an infamous party that’s already led four schools to conduct investigations into their players’ travels to, and adventures in, South Florida.

According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, and citing multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, Pittsburgh defensive end Greg Romeus attended a South Beach party feting San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore this past May.

The website reports that the reigning co-Big East Defensive Player of the Year is prepared for any questions as to how he came to be at the party, which would likely include being able to provide receipts for his activities that weekend.

As Romeus is from nearby Coral Springs, NFP notes, it would seem plausible that he could’ve found his way to the party without any “outside” help.

There was no indication in the report that either the school or the NCAA is looking into, investigating or probing Romeus.

Thus far, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia have launched probes in conjunction with the NCAA into South Beach parties that have taken place this offseason; the UGA player, Star wide receiver A.J. Green, has publicly stated that he’s never been to Miami’s South Beach, let alone attended a party there.
