Doc Holliday dons boot, kicks three Herd freshman to the curb

In his first seven-plus months as head coach at Marshall, Doc Holliday has put his imprint on the Herd football program by planting his boot to the backside of his two starting corners in the span of a couple months.

Even as Holliday is set to open his first summer camp Wednesday, that boot is receiving some additional work.

According to the Charleston Daily Mail, three members of Marshall’s 2010 recruiting class have been summarily dismissed by Holliday. True freshman Antwon Chisholm, Fred Pickett and Mike Fleurizard all got on the wrong side of the Good Doctor and have lost the privilege of playing football in Huntington.

“We have high expectations of our players and these three have not lived up to what we require of a Marshall University football player,” Holliday said. “They have lost the privilege of playing football at Marshall and have been dismissed from our football team.”

Holliday did not elaborate on whether the dismissals were caused by academics, legal issues or violating the ever-popular team rules.
