Texas LB Tevin Jackson ruled ineligible

Longhorn freshman linebacker Tevin Jackson has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA and cannot enroll in class or play with the team.

The NCAA has yet to clear the Garland native due to an issue with his high school transcript.

"[We] will continue to pursue getting the issue resolved in order for Jackson to enroll. But if the situation isn’t resolved quickly, he’ll be unable to enroll this semester and won’t be eligible to play for the Longhorns,” said a statement released by Texas officials.

The Texas Longhorns travel to Houston to play Rice at Relient Stadium this Saturday. Kickoff is at 3:30 E.T.
