UGA’s leading receiver has 50-50 shot at playing vs. Vols

The same game Georgia saw the return of All-American wide receiver A.J. Green, the player who had taken over the bulk of Green’s workload in the passing game, Kris Durham, was sidelined because of injury.

Fortunately, there’s good news on the Durham injury front. Unfortunately, there’s bad news on the same front as far as a different receiver is concerned.

Head coach Mark Richt said following practice Wednesday that Durham’s stinger is improving and he has a 50-50 chance of playing against Tennessee on Saturday. Fellow receiver Marlon Brown, however, will has been ruled out with a shoulder injury.

“Yesterday, I would’ve said I don’t think so on Kris (playing) but he’s got a 50-50 chance, we’ll see how he does Thursday, however it’s a no contact day,” said Richt in quotes released by the school. “Last week, it went right up to pre-game before the decision was made and we’ll see, we might be in the same boat to figure it out. I hope he can play. Marlon will not play, but we don’t think its anything long-term.”

Durham’s 17 catches and 324 receiving yards -- in four games -- leads the Bulldogs.
