Buffs QB Hansen released from hospital

Five days after suffering a significant internal injury in Colorado’s loss to Texas Tech, quarterback Tyler Hansen is finally heading home.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, Hansen was released from the hospital early Thursday morning after spending the past few days recovering from a ruptured spleen. The junior was expected to be released Wednesday, but a surgical procedure pushed that back one additional day.

After getting his release today, Hansen went to observe the Buffaloes’ practice, where his teammates are preparing for Saturday’s game against No. 11 Oklahoma.

Hansen has been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, but there’s a chance (chuckle) he could return (guffaw) if CU earns a bowl bid (ROTFLMAO). He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Cody Hawkins, son of Buffs head coach Dan Hawkins.
