Big Ten’s leader in passing yards injured, out of game

Beating Wisconsin with a healthy Ben Chappell on the field would’ve been a tough enough task for Indiana. With Chappell injured on the sidelines? It becomes a near impossibility.

Yet, that’s where the Hoosiers find themselves at this point in time as the senior quarterback was sidelined by a hip injury in the middle of the second quarter. As of this posting, Chappell, who leads the Big Ten in passing yards per game, had missed two straight drives, and there’s no word yet on his return.

Chappell was replaced by redshirt freshman Zach Davis-Walker, who was promptly involved in a botched handoff that resulted in a fumble and ultimately led to a touchdown that pushed the Badgers’ lead to 31-10.

Of course, even with a healthy Chappell, the Hoosiers don’t stand a chance to beat the Badgers if they can’t stop the run; through two quarters of play, UW has run for 187 yards and averaged 6.9 yards per carry.

The No. 6 Badgers lead 38-10 at the half.
