According to the Allentown Morning Call, Penn State punter Anthony Fera underwent a successful emergency appendectomy early Wednesday. The procedure will sideline the sophomore for at least the two remaining regular season games.
True freshman Alex Butterworth is listed as the No. 2 punter on the Nittany Lions’ depth chart. He has yet to attempt a punt this season.
Fera is seventh in the Big Ten and 54th in the nation with a 41.6 average.
