Two stabbed, three arrested in brawl before UCLA-USC game

I really underestimated how seriously the greater Los Angeles folk take their college football.

Two people were stabbed and two police officers suffered minor injuries in a fight hours before the USC-UCLA game Saturday, the Los Angeles Times reported. Pasadena police have identified the three men arrested as Arturo Cisneros, 44, Joshua Elder, 23, and Steven Radu, 27. Cisneros is on $1 million bail for attempted murder, while Elder and Radu are being held on suspicion of assault of a police officer.

According to the official police report, upwards of 75 people were fighting when officers arrived on the scene. It was believed *shocker* alcohol combined with the atmosphere of the rivalry started the fight. An officer attempting to break up a portion of the fight suffered a sprained wrist.

The two stabbing victims were taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital and are currently listed in fair condition. One victim was stabbed in the cheek and the other in the back.

You can view footage of the fight and the aftermath here (at your own discretion, of course).

UPDATED 9:00 a.m ET: Eye witnesses to the fight have said that the incident was not started by the fact that it was rivalry game between the two schools. You can view the testimonies here.
