When Jim Harbaugh left Stanford for the chance to coach in the NFL, albeit still in the bay area, there was plenty of speculation as to how the move would affect the future of the Cardinal.
Well, for one, it did not impact quarterback Andrew Luck‘s decision to stay in school another year.
Apparently, it also hasn’t affected Stanford’s recruiting efforts too much, either.
Wayne Lyons, a four-star safety from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, chose the Cardinal over Michigan and Auburn. Lyons was easily one of the most heavily recruited kids in the country and, for a while, it appeared Michigan was in the lead to land him. However, Lyons ultimately decided to take his talents, and 5.0 GPA, west to Palo Alto.
