Kehoe officially returns to his Miami roots

Just a few days after word first surfaced that he was likely returning to his long-time collegiate home, Art Kehoe is finally, and officially, back where he belongs.

Miami announced via a press release Monday that Kehoe has been hired by Al Golden to serve as the first-year head coach’s offensive line coach. With the Kehoe hiring, Golden’s first UM staff is complete.

“As both a coach and player, I have always had a great amount of respect for the way that Art Kehoe coached the game of football,” said Golden. “His success at the University of Miami is unmatched and we are excited to welcome him back to THE U.”

Kehoe was a player at the school in the late seventies, and then was a Hurricanes assistant for 25 years -- with five different head coaches. He was unceremoniously dismissed following the 2005 season and ultimately sued the university.

The past two years, he served as the line coach for Sacramento’s UFL franchise.
