Ludwig officially tabbed as SDSU’s offensive coordinator

Rumored to be a done deal on Monday, San Diego State officially announced the hiring of a new offensive coordinator on Tuesday.

As previously reported, new head coach Rocky Long has added Andy Ludwig to his offensive staff. Ludwig had spent the past two seasons as the coordinator of the Cal Golden Bears.

“Coach Ludwig has a wealth of experience as an offensive coordinator at some of the top programs around the country,” Long said in a statement. “He has done a tremendous job developing quarterbacks and offenses throughout his coaching career, and I expect him to continue that success here at San Diego State.”

In addition to his two years as Cal, Ludwig has also spent time as a coordinator at Utah (2005-08), Oregon (2002-04) and Fresno State (1998-2001).

Ludwig will replace Al Borges, who joined Brady Hoke‘s new coaching staff at Michigan.
