Boise State loses eight for spring practice

Heading into spring practice, Boise State was already looking to adjust from the losses of OC Bryan Harsin to Texas, and wide receivers Austin Pettis and Titus Young to the NFL.

Now, the Broncos will be without 8 more players on both sides of the ball for their spring scrimmage.

Wide receiver Mitch Burroughs, nickel back Jonathan Brown, safety Cedric Febis, linebackers Byron Hout and Aaron Tevis, running back D.J. Harper, tight end Chandler Koch and defensive end Kharyee Marshall will not participate in spring practice due to injuries.

And, in case you were wondering, Hout is indeed the guy who got sucker punched by LeGarrette Blount.

“This game is such a tough, violent game and these kids get beat up from the season and it takes them a while to heal up from surgeries and bruises,” Chris Petersen said.

Petersen did not go into specifics of each case, but the fact of the matter remains that Boise State will need all the able bodies they can get as they look to get familiarized with a new OC and reload in some skill positions.
