Mich. St. DE suspended for spring game

When Michigan State takes the field Saturday for their annual spring game, they’ll do so without the services of defensive end Corey Freeman.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the junior was cited Monday for driving with a suspended license and failing to disclose to an officer that he was carrying a concealed weapon. The former charge is a misdemeanor, the latter a civil charge as Freeman has a valid permit for the firearm that was on his person.

An MSU official confirmed to the State Journal that Freeman will be held out of the spring game this weekend due to a violation team rules.

In 2010, Freeman played in 11 games, all in a backup role.
