Poll: Playoff in college football -- yea or nay?

OK, y’all asked for it. Alright, one of y’all asked for it, but we aren’t here to pick nits. Or anything else for that matter.

Rather, given the news of the past couple of weeks or so -- from Utah’s attorney general getting set to file an antitrust suit against the BcS to the Department of Justice’s pointed questions in a letter to the NCAA to Sen. Orrin Hatch continuing to bang the anti-BcS drum -- the subject of a playoff system at the highest level of college football is once again at or near the top of the water-cooler discussion.

Based on the feedback we’ve received via email, in the comments below a post on the subject and via Twitter, as well as nearly every poll -- including this one -- we’ve seen in the past, it appears that a significant majority of college football fans favor a playoff in Div. 1-A football.

So, basically, we’re going to put that assumption to the test via a poll with an admittedly small sample size and one very simple question: should a playoff system be created for and implemented in big-time college football? If you’re a fan of a college football playoff -- any system, one that includes the bowls or not -- vote yes; if you’re a fan of the BcS status quo, or even for going back to the old bowl system, vote no.

Go ahead. Have at it. And feel free to explain yourself in the comments, although we don’t really need to give you permission to spout off now do we?
