Ex-Buffs DE lands at N.C. State

A month after deciding to leave Colorado, Forrest West has found a new football home a wee bit further east than his previous one.

Head coach Tom O’Brien announced Wednesday that the ex-Buffs defensive end has officially decided to transfer to North Carolina State. After sitting out the 2011 season in order to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, West will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

West played in 11 games last season for the Buffaloes and finished second on the team with 5.5 sacks.

In addition to West’s, ummm, addition, O’Brien announced that linebacker E.J. Carter has left the football program.

Carter left the Syracuse football program in May, and announced in August that he was transferring to the Wolfpack. He did not play in 2010 as he sat out his transfer year.
