Zach Brown does the expected, moves on from Wisconsin to Pitt

Pittsburgh has seemingly become the go-to school for football transfers this offseason, and that trend reportedly continued over the weekend.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, running back Zach Brown informed the Pitt coaching staff that he’s planning on enrolling in classes at the school and will play for the Panthers in 2011. It was announced in mid-May that Brown would be transferring from Wisconsin to play his final season of college football elsewhere.

It was reported last week that Brown spent three days visiting Pittsburgh, making the Big East school the perceived front-runner.

Brown will be eligible to play immediately as he will enroll in a postgraduate program not offered at his former school.

During his three-year Badger career, Brown, who came to Madison from Royal Palm Beach, Fla., rushed for 1,152 yards (4.8 ypc.) and 11 touchdowns. If Brown had stayed in Madison, he would’ve entered the 2011 season stuck on the bench behind arguably the top RB duo in the country, Montee Ball and James White, which obviously played a significant role in his decision to move on from the Badgers.
