Minor injury to UGA’s Isaiah Crowell has the RB as day-to-day

Heading into the 2011 season, it was widely thought that the SEC would be a running back-driven league with the likes of South Carolina’s Marcus Lattimore, Alabama’s Trent Richardson, Arkansas’ Knile Davis and Georgia’s freshman Isaiah Crowell.

As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Davis suffered a severe ankle injury yesterday and has been ruled out for the season. Now, it appears Crowell is also succumbed to the injury bug, although on a far, far lesser level.

Still, if I were Nick Saban and Steve Spurrier, I’d put Richardson and Lattimore, respectively, on lockdown immediately and send out a search party to Louisiana’s finest voodoo shops.

Suspect is wearing a hat and chewing grass.

Back to Crowell, Bulldogs beat writer Seth Emerson tweeted earlier today that Crowell “is dealing with a minor groin injury, according to Mark Richt. He was shut down in practice today, and he’ll be day-to-day.”

With the departures of Caleb King and Washaun Ealey, Crowell is expected to have a possible immediate impact on the Bulldogs’ ground game.
