TCU QB to have MRI on shoulder; future uncertain?

Already dealing with the loss of star quarterback Andy Dalton to the NFL, the last thing TCU needs is for their projected new starter, Casey Pachall, to miss any playing time during camp or the season.

Yet, that might be the circumstance with which the Frogs are faced. Pachall has missed the last two practices with a sore shoulder, but an MRI could reveal a potentially more serious injury. What that injury is, head coach Gary Patterson and team medical staff aren’t sure.

If the injury requires Pachall to miss any playing time, the Frogs will likely go with either Matt Brown or Trevone Boykin. Both are freshman.

In mop up duty last year, Pachall, then a freshman, went 6-of-9 for 78 yards and a touchdown.
