Kentucky cornerback leaves program

Why, hello, slow news segment. I haven’t seen you in a while since A&M decided they wanted to go the SEC because the Longhorn Network tried to broadcast high school games of kids getting impermissible benefits from Nevin Shapiro.

Moving on...

Kentucky will navigate their way through another rigorous SEC schedule this year without the help of one of their backup corners.

The Lexington Herald-Ledger reports today via head coach Joker Phillips that sophomore Jerrell Priester is no longer with the team. No reason was given.

We wish him well,” Phillips said of Priester. “It’s one of those things that’s kind of common at this time of the year, that kids leave. We’ll wish him well and keep this thing going.”

As a freshman, Priester played in nine games for the Wildcats, both in backup duty at cornerback and in special teams as a return specialist.
