Central Michigan suspends two for at least season opener

I know, I know. We can barely contain our emotions, too.

Which is why I try to write with great restraint that Central Michigan has suspended a pair of defensive players for at least the opening game of the year.

A university press release states junior defensive back Lorenzo White will sit out CMU’s season opener against South Carolina State and senior defensive end Kashawn Fraser will serve a two-game suspension that will include an absence against Kentucky on Sept. 10.

The two have been suspended for violating unspecified team rules.

White saw action in 11 games last season, recording 25 tackles. Fraser’s loss could be felt more deeply, as the senior started in nine games for CMU last season.
