Baylor makes official former Gonzaga point guard’s transfer

Way back in late May, it was reported that Gonzaga point guard Demetri Goodson would be transferring to Baylor -- to play football.

Friday, the Bears made the report officially official.

In a release, the school announced that Goodson has indeed transferred to and will play football for the Bears. As he’s transferring from Gonzaga, which does not have a football program, he will eligible to play immediately.

Beginning with the 2011 season, Goodson will have two years of football eligibility remaining.

As noted in the release, Goodson hasn’t played football since starting as an all-district cornerback for Klein Collins (Tex.) High School as a sophomore. Goodson is expected to play defensive back for the Bears.
