Vols lose leading receiver for the year

Let’s take a break from the conference realignment muck for a moment, shall we?

Time to talk about, well, more bad news. At least if you’re a Vols fan.

As some of you may recall, Tennessee’s leading receiver Justin Hunter went down with an awkward-looking knee injury in Saturday’s game against Florida. The initial diagnosis wasn’t known, but word began circulating that it was an ACL injury of some kind.

Turns out those rumors are true, and it’s not good for Hunter and Vols. The university released a statement today confirming that Hunter has suffered an ACL tear in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

Prior to the injury, Hunter had 314 yards on 17 catches and a pair of touchdowns.
