Virginia Tech lost more than the game when Clemson rolled into town and rode back out on the right end of a 23-3 victory. The Hokies also lost their starting defensive lineman.
Hokiesports.com is reporting that defensive tackle Antoine Hopkins suffered a torn ACL during Saturday’s game and will have to miss the remainder of the season. He is scheduled to have surgery on the knee this Friday.
No announcement has been made as to who will replace Hopkins; that is expected to come early this week as Virginia Tech prepares to host Miami.
Hopkins had eight tackles so far this season.
