After a littler over a week of speculation, Louisville coach Charlie Strong confirmed Monday what was already very apparent -- that offensive coordinator Mike Sanford was no longer with the program.
The only real question about the dismissal was “what took so long?”
Strong confirmed that he wanted to keep Sanford on staff, but the two eventually agreed it was best to part ways.
Entering the North Carolina game, to which Sanford did not travel, Louisville ranked 105th out of the 120 FBS teams in scoring offense.
