Poll: The No. 1 team in the country is...

And then there were five.

Thanks to No. 1 LSU’s 9-6 overtime win over No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, the ranks of the unbeatens have been thinned once again, with the Tigers, No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 4 Stanford, No. 5 Boise State and No. 14 Houston the only teams that have a shot at perfect seasons 10 weeks in. However, two of those teams -- OK, one and a half of football -- did do their damnedest to put an untimely blemish on their 2011 résumé.

The Cowboys and No. 17 Kansas State exchanged the lead three times -- with a tie thrown in for good measure -- in the fourth quarter of the 52-45 OSU win, with the outcome decidedly in doubt until the Wildcats were unsuccessful on three attempts from the five-yard line in the closing seconds. Still, OSU, along with LSU, are the only two teams in the country that truly controls its own destiny when it comes to filling the two spots in the BcS title game.

And then there were the Broncos, which led the depleted UNLV Rebels just 21-14 at the half before realizing that, one, they are Boise State and, two, the team on the other sideline was UNLV. Naturally, they won going away by the count of 48-21.

While there’s zero doubt which team will sit atop every single major poll as well as the BcS rankings when they are released Sunday evening, we have but one question and a followup to ask: who ya got? Who’s the best team in the country after 10 weeks of the 2011 season?

So, if you could be so kind, please vote your conscience below. And if you don’t possess a conscience, just wing it and guess. Either way, vote.
