Starting LB one of four ‘Cane defenders to miss game against FSU

Miami’s defense is going to be short-handed this weekend as they try to knock off rival Florida State. After injuring his shoulder last weekend against Duke, starting linebacker Jordan Futch has been ruled out against the ‘Noles. Futch was unable to practice all week.

It’ll have to be a really, really positive trend here in the last 72 hours for it to go the right way for him,” coach Al Golden said of Futch’s injury yesterday.

Futch has 20 tackles on the season.

Additionally, defensive tackles Curtis Porter and Luther Robinson will miss Saturday’s game. Both had missed every game this season, but had begun practicing at full-speed.

Safety Ray-Ray Armstrong is already suspended for the Florida State game following a tweet that he had dinner with the president of a PR group that works with professional athletes. Miami is in the middle of an NCAA investigation for allegations that more than 70 players received impermissible benefits from former booster Nevin Shapiro.
