Wazzu QB Halliday out of ICU

Monday, Washington confirmed that quarterback Connor Halliday had suffered a lacerated liver in Saturday’s loss to Utah and was hospitalized in intensive care.

As horrific-sounding as that injury is, there is some good news on the medical front for Halliday.

In an update to Halliday’s status, the school stated in a release that the redshirt freshman had improved enough to be moved out of the intensive care unit at Pullman Regional Hospital. While he remained hospitalized overnight, he could be released as early as Tuesday.

He is listed in stable condition, the release added.

Halliday absorbed several hard hits throughout the game against the Utes and yet he remained in the game through overtime, but went to the medical staff soon after the end of the game and notified them that he was in significant pain. Specialists were brought in after he was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that his liver had been lacerated.

Suffice to say, the injury will knock Halliday, who was making the first start of his career vs. the Utes,
