Purdue down another receiver for bowl game

Earlier in the week it was confirmed that third-leading receiver O.J. Ross had been suspended for Purdue’s bowl game Dec. 27.

Now, one of Ross’ receiving mates won’t be available as well.

Head coach Danny Hope, the recipient of a surprise contract extension Saturday, announced that Waynelle Gravesande will not be available for the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl versus Western Michigan because he fell short academically.

Gravesande, a senior no less, is fifth on the Boilermakers with 18 receptions on the season. He’s also the team’s main punt returner, although he’s averaged just 5.9 yards on 22 returns.
