Late last month, Michigan State offensive coordinator Dan Roushar said he expected quarterback Andrew Maxwell to be healthy enough to return for offseason workouts.
On Tuesday, head coach Mark Dantonio confirmed as much, as Maxwell has rejoined his teammates for voluntary summer workouts. Maxwell, a redshirt junior, was previously sidelined after he sprained his knee during MSU’s first spring scrimmage.
Though Maxwell’s injury allowed backup Connor Cook to step in and take a majority of offensive reps in the spring, Maxwell is all but officially the guy at quarterback for Michigan State in 2012.
