BC loses leading receiver for several weeks due to injury

This one will leave a mark on a team that can ill afford minor losses let alone a significant one.

Yet that’s where Boston College stands today as the school announced that wide receiver Bobby Swigert will miss the next several weeks due to an injury to his left knee. There were no details available as to the specific nature of the injury or whether surgery would be necessary.

The “several weeks” timetable would seem to put the junior’s return at somewhere around the beginning of October at the earliest.

The loss will be significant for a team coming off an abysmal four-win season as Swigert was the Eagles’ leading receiver last year, catching 44 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns.
