Domestic dispute nets Ark. St. WR a misdemeanor

An incident involving Allen Muse and his wife has left the the Arkansas State player facing potential punitive measures from the football program.

According to KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, the wide receiver was arrested early Wednesday morning by university police and charged with third-degree assault. The details of what led to the arrest are relatively scant, although the Associated Press gave a brief description of the incident:

The 6-4, 200-pound Muse was arrested Wednesday [morning] after his mother-in-law called university police.

A report on the incident says Muse broke down a bathroom door after his wife locked herself in with his phone. There is no indication in the report that anyone was struck.

ASU head coach Gus Malzahn is aware of the incident and, through a school spokesperson, said he will take the appropriate action once all the facts are in.

The senior caught one pass for seven yards in the season-opening loss to Oregon. For his career, Muse has 65 receptions for 853 yards and seven touchdowns.
