Jordan Hall returns to buttress Buckeyes’ backfield

Ohio State had already announced earlier in the week that its starting running back the first two games of the season, Carlos Hyde, would miss today’s game against Cal due to a sprained MCL.

However, there was hope that the projected starter exiting spring practice, Jordan Hall, would be able to return from an offseason injury that sidelined him for both games. Apparently, that was in no way, shape or form false hope.

Hall was on the Ohio Stadium field prior to the game against Cal in full uniform warming up with his teammates and is expected to play. How much (probably a lot) and whether he’ll be in the starting lineup (likely not) remains to be seen.

After injuring his foot in late June in a freak accident involving stepping on a piece of broken glass, Hall was expected to be sidelined for a period of 10 weeks as he recovered from the surgery. It’s been exactly 11 weeks since word of the injury first surfaced publicly.
