Michigan RB sentenced up to 10 months probation

It’s been just about two months since Michigan running back Fitz Toussaint pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving a vehicle while visibly impaired stemming from drunk-driving charge over the summer. Now, Toussaint has learned his sentencing, which includes up to 10 months of probation.

Toussaint is also required to attend 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings within the next 120 days and complete a substance abuse program, refrain from using alcohol or drugs and agree to three drug/alcohol tests over the course of the next 90 days. He could have faced up to 93 days in jail, a $300 fine and 360 hours of community service.

Toussaint, the team’s leading rusher in 2011, was suspended for the season-opener against Alabama. He has 283 yards and four touchdowns so far this season, well behind the team’s leader on the ground, quarterback Denard Robinson.
