Per the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Jefferson pleaded no contest to simple battery Wednesday stemming back to his barfight last August. Jefferson will be released from jail today, pay $100 in fines and serve one year of probation that mandates 30 hours of community service. He will also be subject to random drug testing.

Just days after being released from jail for his arrest in a drug bust involving three other former LSU players, including cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, former Tigers quarterback Jordan Jefferson is back behind bars.
Per multiple media outlets, a district judge ruled Tuesday morning that Jefferson’s arrest last week violated the terms of his bond related to his arrest last year. The result of the ruling was that Jefferson was to report to prison by 2 p.m.
“When someone is on bond and they re-offended obviously the judge that sets the bond will take a look at the reasoning behind it,” district attorney Hillar Moore told reporters.
As you’ll recall, Jefferson was connected to a bar fight last August that led to a charge of second-degree battery. Jefferson could technically remain in jail until Dec.12, the date of his next hearing. However, he is currently undergoing substance abuse evaluation and will likely be released sooner.
Both Mathieu and Jefferson were charged with simple possession of marijuana, while Karnell Hatcher was charged with second-offense possession of marijuana and Derrick Bryant was slapped with a possession with intent to distribute charge. Bryant, Jefferson and Mathieu were all released from jail on the same day last week.
