Muschamp confirms QB Driskel will play against FSU

Just how much, though, is to be determined.

Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel missed last weekend’s win against Jacksonville State with an ankle injury he sustained the week before against Louisiana-Lafayette. Will Muschamp said at the time that he expected Driskel back for the regular-season finale against Florida State.

Indeed that’s turned out to be the case. Muschamp said Monday that Driskel will play against the Seminoles, though how much he’ll play is a detail less concrete. The plan is to see how Driskel does this week in practice and then make a decision.

Jeff Driskel will play in the game,” Muschamp said. “What will be his percentage I don’t know right now. We will not practice him today but he will practice tomorrow. He probably could practice today but in talking with (trainer) Anthony Pass we felt like it would be best for him to have treatment today.”

Backup Jacoby Brissett wasn’t real impressive against Jacksonville State, throwing for 154 yards and no scores. FSU comes into Saturday’s game with statistically one of the best defenses in the country, so it’s going to be a challenge for Florida’s offense no matter who’s behind center.
