Buffs reportedly lands SJSU’s MacIntyre as head coach

Finally, Colorado’s long -- and embarrassing -- coaching search nightmare is over. Reportedly.

A few days after being shunned by Butch Jones, both Pete Thamel of SI.com and Kyle Ringo of the Boulder Daily Camera are reporting that it has hired Mike MacIntyre as its next head football coach. MacIntyre would replace Jon Embree, who was fired after two dismal seasons in Boulder.

There has been no confirmation of the move yet by the school, although an official announcement on Colorado’s choice of coach could come as early as today.

MacIntyre, who has been connected to the CU job since Jones’ snub, comes to the Buffaloes from San Jose State, where he led the Spartans to a 10-win (and counting) season in 2012. In MacIntyre’s first season at the school in 2010, the Spartans won just one game.
