Foot fracture will sideline Tide LB for rest of spring

Jadeveon Clowney will likely miss the rest of South Carolina’s spring practices because of a neck sprain in what can be chalked up to precautionary measures. The same can’t quite be said for Alabama linebacker Trey DePriest.

Per ESPN’s Chris Low, DePriest fractured his foot in the Tide’s Saturday’s scrimmage and will miss the rest of spring recovering from necessary surgery. Alabama’s spring game is on April 20.

The junior started 13 games and appeared in all 14 of Alabama’s national championship season a year ago. He finished second on the team in tackles with 59 -- four of which went for a loss.

His absence should give sophomore Reggie Ragland and redshirt freshman Ryan Anderson more reps at the inside linebacker spot for what’s left of the spring.
