C.J. Brown cleared for full participation during ‘voluntary’ workouts

Lost for the 2012 season before it even began thanks to a torn ACL, Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown has slowly but surely been making his way back.

On Thursday, Terps coach Randy Edsall said Brown has finally been cleared “for everything” during summer workouts. Brown had previously been limited during spring practices. He is expected to be the starting QB for Maryland when the Terps open the season against FIU.

Brown started five games for Maryland in 2011, leading the team that season with five rushing touchdowns and finishing second in rushing yards (574). He also missed almost all of the 2010 season with a broken collarbone.

Brown was recently granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. He has two years of playing time left.
