Dana Holgorsen to hurry-up offense critics: ‘Get over it’

Nick Saban and Bret Bielema have never been shy about expressing their concern with hurry-up offenses and injuries.

Some number crunching suggests there’s nothing to be concerned about, but that hasn’t stopped Saban and Bielema from getting their message out.

Likewise, West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen has a message to Saban, Bielema and any other coach who questions the safety of the hurry-up: get over it.

When asked at Big 12 Media Days about uptempo offenses, Holgorsen said he felt they were a part of the future of the game.

I’d tell ‘em to get over it, because it’s not going to change. It’s going into the NFL, for crying out loud,” Holgorsen said. “There’s people being hired in the NFL that have the background in college football to be able to create a little bit more parity.

“Don’t see it changing any time soon, so you’d better learn to adapt to it.”

As a reminder, Alabama and West Virginia open the 2014 season against one another. So, Saban, you officially have a little over 12 months to “adapt” to Holgorsen’s scheme.
