Starting ‘Cuse WR suffers season-ending injury

After a couple of years of biding his time and fighting through injuries, Adrian Flemming finally got his starting shot against Penn State in the season opener. Unfortunately for the player, it’ll be his only shot of the season.

In a press release sent out Friday, the Orange confirmed that wide receiver Adrian Flemming suffered a lower-body injury -- the specific nature was not divulged -- at some point between Saturday and today that will require surgery to repair the damage. As a result of the surgical procedure and rehabilitation, the true senior will miss the remainder of the 2013 season.

As Flemming has yet to use his redshirt season, he will be able to return for a fifth year in 2014.

The game against Penn State was the first start of Flemming’s career. He had two catches for 18 yards; those were the first two catches of a career that included 19 games played entering the 2013 season.
