Jerry Kill suffers apparent seizure

The seizures that have plagued Jerry Kill over the past couple of years have apparently returned.

At halftime of Minnesota’s game with Western Illinois, the Gophers head coach was treated by team medical personnel for what appeared to be a seizure, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported. Kill was subsequently taken by a stretcher off the sidelines, presumably to the locker room for further treatment.

There’s been no official word yet from Minnesota as to the exact nature of the episode, although Kill will not return to the game.

If it was indeed a seizure, it would be the third such game-day instance for Kill, who has been diagnosed with epilepsy.

During his first season in 2011, Kill suffered a seizure on the sidelines late in the fourth quarter of a September game against New Mexico State. In October of last year, he suffered another seizure in the immediate aftermath of a loss to Northwestern.
