And with that, it appears the season of one of the most touted members of the 2013 recruiting class has come to an end.
Following up on a tweet sent out by the player very early Thursday morning, Texas A&M confirmed late Friday morning that Ricky Seals-Jones will undergo knee surgery today. The wide receiver has been dealing with a lingering knee issue that kept him out of a Week 2 win over Sam Houston State and all but a handful of plays in the loss to Alabama last Saturday.
The school did not confirm that Seals-Jones will miss the remainder of the season, although the talk of a medical redshirt earlier this week all but confirms that will be the case.
Seals-Jones, the No. 2 receiver in the country in this year’s class, will likely finish his true freshman season with three catches for 84 yards and a touchdown, all of which came in the opener against Rice.
