LSU’s Turner and Johnson will play against Georgia

LSU head coach Les Miles said on Monday that right guard Trai Turner and defensive tackle Anthony Johnson are both going to be healthy enough to play against Georgia on Saturday.

Turner (right ankle) and Johnson (left leg) each had to leave the game due to injuries suffered in the Tigers’ win over Auburn this past Saturday. Both injuries were at first thought to be serious.

But Miles said LSU trainers determined that Turner’s injury was just a contusion while Johnson’s was a bruise. Both will start against the Bulldogs.

Turner is a sophomore who has started all of LSU’s games this season and seven as a 2012 freshman. He’s one of the keys to the Tigers running attack. Johnson is a junior with 13 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss so far. Along with Ego Ferguson, he’s projected to be a future first round pick.
