An early return for BYU’s Spencer Hadley?

Suspended last month for violating BYU’s honor code, Spencer Hadley could see the sentence reduced to time served.

The football program announced Friday that, after being cleared by the university, the middle linebacker has resumed practicing with his teammates. Hadley has already missed games against Utah, Middle Tennessee State and Utah State.

Hadley had originally been suspended for five games, which would’ve meant a return for the Oct. 25 game against Boise State. However, there’s a possibility the senior could return this weekend.

“His playing status for Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech will be determined” by head coach Bronco Mendenhall, the school said.

At the time of his suspension, Hadley was tied for fourth on the team in tackles with 12 through the first two games. He started all 13 games in 2012, and started both contests in which he’s played in 2013.
