Michigan LB Jake Ryan to dress vs Penn State

One of Michigan’s top defensive players could be in uniform Saturday against Penn State, but it is not yet known if linebacker Jake Ryan will see the field. Michigan head coach Brady Hoke said in an interview with MGoBlue.com Ryan will suit up but was not sure if he will play in his first game of the season.

“He’ll suit up,” Hoke said. “We’ll see if he plays.”

Ryan has missed the entire season so far as he works back from an ACL injury suffered in the spring. Michigan has been hoping to get Ryan back at some point this month. Whenever Ryan does return to Michigan’s line-up and sees the field, he will provide a boost to a Michigan defense that has already been playing pretty well so far this year. Michigan is currently ranked fourth in the Big Ten in total defense. Adding an All-Big Ten caliber player on the field can only help.
