Alabama’s A.J. McCarron and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota headline a list of 16 semifinalists for the 2013 Davey O’Brien Award, which is awarded annually to college football’s top quarterback.
Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel -- last year’s winner -- is also on the list. He’s trying to join Ty Detmer, Danny Wuerffel and Jason White as the only players to win the award twice
The SEC leads all conferences with five selections. The Pac-12 has three.
