Availability of Tide CB Bradley Sylve for LSU up in the air

Alabama could be without a key piece to its stout secondary for Saturday’s key showdown with LSU.

Bradley Sylve suffered the dreaded high-ankle sprain in the Oct. 19 win over Arkansas and sat the following weekend’s win over Tennessee. Even with a bye weekend to give him additional time to recuperate, the injury, as the type ofttimes does, is lingering.

Head coach Nick Saban said Wednesday, by way of al.com, the cornerback is “still probably not 100 percent” quite yet. Unofficially, Saban listed Sylve as day-to-day.

Sylve has started three games this season, including two straight prior to the injury incurred in the Razorbacks game. Because of the injury, he was listed as the co-starter opposite Deion Belue on the depth chart for the LSU game.

Sophomore Cyrus Jones started in place of Sylve for the UT game and would do the same against the Tigers this weekend. Jones is actually listed behind both Sylve freshman Eddie Jackson on the most recent depth chart.
