Kansas offensive line coach Tim Grunhard stepping down

Kansas is averaging a Big 12 15.8 points and 301.2 yards of total offense per game this season, with one game to play. As you might expect given those dreadful numbers, a change on the coaching staff is in order for the Jayhawks. Charlie Weis is not going anywhere it seems, but offensive line coach Tim Grunhard is stepping down from his position after this weekend’s season finale against Kansas State.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Grunhard’s decision to step down had leaked enough that Weis had to make a statement on the news to confirm the pending change Weis apparently has a replacement already lined up, but that coach is not currently available.

Kansas has been making adjustments on the offensive line all season long and the numbers are indicative of that. Kansas ranks 76th in the nation in rushing offense (161.73 rushing yards per game) and the offensive line has given up 22.0 sacks this season to opposing defenses.
