As Chris Davis blasted into the end zone Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium, it was easy to wonder: How, exactly, did he stay in bounds?
There’s a faction of Alabama fans that believe Davis stepped out of bounds, apparently. And on Monday, a petition surfaced on Change.org about it.
SEC and NCAA- do the right thing and make this right for everyone involved!!
The screenshot the petition uses is supposed to show Davis’ foot touching out of the field of play, even though it doesn’t. Davis’ foot isn’t on the ground in the screenshot. Plus, despite the pandemonium at Auburn, officials easily could’ve determined by replay that his foot was out of bounds.
But trying to argue logic here is pointless, since the thought of Alabama and Auburn playing overtime periods sometime this week is hilarious. Maybe the Iron Bowl overtimes could take place before the SEC Championship? Mizzou would probably like that.
As of this posting, the petition had 342 signatures.
The Alabama-Auburn meltdown wasn’t confined to one small petition, either:Apparently, the massive number of calls has crashed our phone system. We are working to correct situation.
