Boston College’s Andre Williams runs away with Doak Walker Award

Boston College running back Andre Williams was named the Doak Walker Award winner for 2013. The Heisman finalist beat out a pair of Pac 12 running backs, Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey and Washington’s Bishop Sankey for the top running back award in college football.

Williams is the first running back from Boston College to win the award and the first running back from the ACC to receive the honor. This season he rushed for 2,119 yards and 17 touchdowns, earning him a trip to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalists on Saturday.

The Doak Walker Award was first awarded in 1990 to Washington’s Greg Lewis.
